Scientific research into complex vegetable substances, and the innovative understanding of the duality between natural and artificial substances, have led to Valentino Mercati, founder and chairman of the Sansepolcro-based company Aboca, being awarded an Honorary Degree in “Vegetable and microbial biotechnology”. The local businessman, already a Cavaliere del Lavoro (Knight of Labour), was awarded the degree by Massimo Maria Augello, Rector of Pisa University, at a public ceremony held in the University’s Great Hall on 25 October 2016.

The Aboca Group lands in Germany

The Aboca Group lands in Germany with the recent opening of Aboca Deutschland GmbH, headquartered in Mannheim in the state of Baden-Württemberg. This brings the number of countries to which it exports to 14 and the number of direct overseas subsidiaries to 5 (along with Spain, France, Poland and the US).

The award, dedicated to companies which despite the difficult economic situation have been able to grow and create value thanks to strategies implemented during the crisis, was a special plaque presented as a tangible expression of the entrepreneurial value shown by the region.
