This kind of Research is mainly used to identify the activity and efficacy of vegetable extracts or their blends, also discovering new possibilities of use. The results of these studies thus make it possible to select the extracts of plants to be used in the finished products, on the basis of their objective scientific data: the strength of their biological action and their safety profile. Preclinical Research, studying the interaction with biological structures such as cells, tissues and organs, also has the fundamental role of explaining the effects of phytocomplexes, identifying or confirming specific action mechanisms. This kind of research is carried out in partnership with university research centres highly specialized in Pharmacology, Physiology, Human Morphology.
Taking into account the most recent acquisitions of modern medical science – which stresses the importance of changes in the DNA as a response to outside nutritional, behavioural and environmental stress – Aboca has recently set up an in house Genomics laboratory specialized in studying how phytocomplexes are able to modulate the expression of the DNA.
