Aboca’s Cellular and Molecular Biology Research Laboratory makes it possible to assess how a phytoextract or its fraction can affect the expression (or transcription) of some genes of interest involved in particular health issues. To carry out these analyses, the company makes use of extremely accurate and reliable techniques such as real-time PCR, also called real time quantitative PCR (rtq-PCR). This kind of research involves in vitro tests using cells acquired from certified cell banks which are exposed for a certain period of time to the compound being investigated, and then treated to collect and quantify the messenger RNA (mRNA), which is the product of the transcription of the gene.
